Jack Snipe sounds

Male snipe and relatives produce bleating, humming and winnowing sounds by vibrating tail feathers during dives, alongside clear whistles, metallic cries and chipping calls from perches or reeds. Several recordings capture leks of the great snipe, ruff and various regional Wilson or Latham snipe not named in the category title. Most clips run between 13 and 23 seconds, long enough for the full display cycle yet short enough to edit as distinct cues.
