Gopher sounds
Gopher and prairie-dog calls mix single piercing squeaks with repeated staccato series and layered colony alarms, some dry and close while others echo from burrows or across open ground. Several recordings feature marmots and ground squirrels whose names do not appear in the category title. Most clips run between six and eleven seconds, long enough for a clear vocalisation but short enough to drop straight into a scene.
