Chimpanzee sounds

Chimpanzee vocalizations range from single sharp screams, hoots and grunts to continuous excited calls, pant-hoots and group choruses, some captured close and dry while others sit in outdoor settings with faint background animals. Several recordings also include drumming on tree trunks or chests, behaviours the category title does not mention. Lengths run from one-second cries to nearly seventy seconds of layered activity, so most sit in the ten-to-thirty-second range useful for editing into scenes.
