Rattling chains, splashing buckets and creaking wooden or metal lids echo inside a deep shaft, some recorded close and dry while others arrive with long reverberant tails or layered ambient birds and rain. A few titles hide human voices calling for help, mysterious film-like tones and magical portal effects among the purely mechanical actions. Lengths run from three-second impacts to a minute-and-a-half scene, so the collection mixes quick cues with atmospheric beds.
