Mandolin sounds

Mandolin chords sustain for around twenty seconds each while shorter plucked and strummed figures capture single notes, tremolo runs and string breaks in just a few seconds. Several titles labelled as mandolin are actually other stringed instruments including balalaika, domra, gusli, sitar and banjo. Most recordings sit between four and six seconds so they function as concise musical stings rather than extended beds.
