Loudspeaker announcements, screams, sirens and fanfares are delivered through public-address systems, megaphones and radios, some clean and close while others arrive distorted, echoing or buried under interference and background noise. Several Russian-language station, factory and port broadcasts appear that the category title does not indicate. Lengths range from single clicks and short bursts of a few seconds up to extended alarm or ambient beds that run well over two minutes.
