Time manipulation effects stretch single impacts, musical phrases and environmental sounds into elongated versions that slow or reverse. A few titles hide watery or viscous liquids plus clockwork and bodily rhythms that are not obvious from the category name. Most last between four and nine seconds so they function as distinct transitional cues rather than sustained backgrounds.
